What were some things attendant recalled about recently deceased customer: music enthusiast with big record collection and a thing for bass players; worked as parole officer, had catholic school upbringing; had had some brushes with death during adventures in her youth: one time camping, a bear had actually been sniffing her in her sleeping bag, another time she was on a narrow train bridge with the train coming. Ordered a large iced half-caf americano with almond milk and an extra shot. She would liken the ideal color of her coffee to the skin tone of a popular singer I wasn’t familiar with. Small thing: she’d wear a kind of button or carabiner on the strap of her handbag, a touch which I thought gave her a ready or adventurous look.
