A value of the mundane — that it is actually here, where you are actually experiencing something you think of as here. Ancient Rome is not here (though its echoes maybe here), this or that celebrity is not here, or this or that longed-for person or place or condition is not here (though the longing may be here.) Maybe that’s why we want to leave here, these things not being present, but have we even established what we seek to leave? Can it be truly left without first seeing what it is?
